The machine model PKTS-3 is a special underfloor wheelset lathe with a support for turning railway wheel sets profile on electric locomotives with diameter of wheel-sets on tread 950-1250mm and gauge1435, 1520 mm.
The design is involves the installation of the machine under the rails space. The movable rails of the machine are a continuation of the depot track.
In accordance with its purpose, wheel lathe model PKTS-3 has the following turning features:
- Turning around the band profile of the wheelset;
- Turning of individual sections of the profile of the shroud to eliminate wheelset
local defects.
